I recently picked up the Happy Herbivore light and lean cookbook. It is written by Lindsay S. Nixon and it contains nutrient dense, low calorie, satisfying vegan (no meat/no dairy/no eggs) recipes that support healthy weight loss. In addition to the cookbook, Nixon also has a website (http://happyherbivore.com) where she offers 7 day eating plans which provide a practical, easy, and informative framework to further support healthy weight loss. There is a 3 day sample meal plan on the website to help a person decide whether the meal plans may feel like a good fit for them. From a naturopathic perspective, there are so many weight loss plans that aren't safe or supportive of our overall health. I really like the cookbook and plans that Nixon has developed because they are safe and help to support healthy weight loss at the same time as strengthening our long term health.
